We congratulate Sensei George Mattson on this day that marks the 65th anniversary of receiving his Shodan.
Since then, Sensei George has dedicated himself to spreading Uechi Ryu Karate under the guidance of his teacher Ryuko Tomoyose and Grand Master Kanei Uechi.
For this reason he is known as the “Grandfather of Uechi Ryu in America”, teaching thousands of people this style of Okinawan Karate.
