SCMAA Logo & Certificates

THE FIVE PETAL PLUM BLOSSOM DESIGN…

of the SCMAA logo stands for endurance and hope. Each petal represents the blessings of prosperity, health, virtue, longevity and right living. In each of the petals is the kanji for one of the five animals that have a rich South China legendary origin – dragon, crane, leopard, snake and tiger. Studying each of the animals provides insight into attributes which lend to the development of external and internal aspects of martial arts.  The dragon exemplifies wisdom, strength, unpredictability, and deceptiveness; the crane patience, evasiveness, grace and accuracy; the leopard strength, speed, accuracy and efficiency; the snake accuracy, alertness, speed and concealment; the tiger strength, directness and agility.

THERE ARE FOUR CERTIFICATES UTILIZED…

by SCMAA – titles/honors, dan, kyu and affiliate.  Each 11″ x 14″ certificate features a foiled phoenix border with appropriate Chinese kanji.

On the far right are three large Chinese kanji that represent body, mind and spirit symbolizing the important evolution in the body, mind and spirit training progression. Immediately to the left of the mind, body and spirit kanji are the five kanji for the legendary South China animals – dragon, crane, leopard, snake and tiger. These animals provide insight into attributes which lend to the development of external and internal aspects of martial arts. These kanji are also represented in the SCMAA logo.

The Alliance put much thought in the design of these certificates and they have been produced to provide a meaningful statement of achievement.
